cajeput

{Melaleuca leucadendra}

General: Cajeput oil comes from the same genus of trees as Tea Tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia). Both are native to Australia. Cajeput oil is known for producing a warm sensation. Aboriginal people used cajeput's flexible, spongy bark for roofing material, timber, and canoes.

Skin Benefits: Nearly identical to tea tree oil, cajeput is an effective expectorant (sinus-clearing), painkiller, cleanser, antifungal, and antibacterial. We add its warming properties to our new Tension Lifter Headache Relief essential oil blend.

Source: Vietnam

Method of Extraction: Steam-distilled from the leaves.
