Ginger Essential Oil {Zingiber officinale}

Method of Extraction: Steam distilled from the fresh rhizomes.

There are more than 1,200 species of ginger. The fresh or dried root, or essential oil, is widely used to treat digestive disorders. We include ginger in our Sore Muscle Rub and Sore Muscle Relief Tea for its pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.

The clear, thin oil has a warm, spicy, woody sweet aroma. It is a middle note in perfume.


Bergamot, cedarwood, clove, coriander, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lemon, lime, Melissa, neroli, peru balsam, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, sweet orange, vetiver, wintergreen, ylang ylang.


Analgesic (pain relief), anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, aids circulation, aids digestion and eases digestive disorders, eases nausea and vomiting, relieves menstrual cramps, diuretic, expectorant, aids healthy breathing.


The warm aroma promotes courage and motivation, encourages feelings of balance and stability and reduces mental fatigue.



 May cause skin irritation, possibly phototoxic.


 As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier oil).
