Lemon Essential Oil {Citrus limon}

Method of Extraction: Cold pressed from the fruit peel.

The lemon tree was originally native to south-eastern Asia until the Arabs brought the plant to the Mediterranean in AD 1000. The tangy juice and essential oil have a long tradition of use in medicine and cosmetics. The unripe fruits are picked while still green to express the highest quality essential oil. It takes over 3,000 lemons to yield just one kilo of essential oil. 

AROMA

The bright yellow oil has a thin consistency and a juicy, clean, sweet citrus aroma. It is a top note in perfumery.

BLENDS WELL WITH

Bay laurel, bergamot, cardamom, chamomile, cinnamon, clary sage, coriander, eucalyptus, fennel, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemongrass, lime, Melissa, neroli, noble fir, ravensara, rose, sandalwood, sweet orange, tea tree, vetiver, ylang ylang.

Anti-aging, skin lightening, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, analgesic (pain relieving), improves skin luster, nourishes the skin, disinfectant, strengthens nails, weight management, helps boils heal, nourishes hair, aids digestion, relieves nausea and vomiting, aids detoxification, reduces the appearance of scars and blemishes.

Antidepressant, adaptogenic, combats frustration, uplifting, aids concentration and memory.

SPECIFIC

May be photosensitizing. Avoid sun exposure to area(s) of topical application for twelve hours or more.

GENERAL

As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier oil).
