pumice

General: Pumice is created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock violently ejects out of volcano. Rapid cooling and depressurization allow CO2 bubbles to become intermixed with the fresh rock. Ancient Greeks used pumice in concrete for their aquaducts. Oceanic pumice floats for decades, inviting unique ecosytems of trees and fish.

Skin Benefits: Pumice provides natural, manual exfoliation, removing dead skin cells without tearing skin. Does not pollute watersheds like recently-banned but incredibly problematic plastic microbeads that are now working their way up the food chain back to us. Our Volcano Pumice Foot Scrub relies on abrasive, ground pumice.
