{Helianthus annuus}

General: Native to North America, native Americans domesticated the crop some 3000 years ago. The large yelow flower is actually composed of hundreds of tiny flowers. When the seeds ripen, these small flowers fall away and the black and white seedheads turn downward.

Skin Benefits: A light, non-greasy oil that won’t leave skin feeling oily. It is rich in linoleic acid (an Omega-6 essential fatty acid), as well as palmitic acid and stearic acid, all components of healthy skin. It supports prevention of premature aging in our Youth in Bloom Phyto-active Day Cream and Youth in Bloom Hyrdating Cleanser. We also add this non-greasy oil to Pitta Gentle Cleansing Milk, Oregon Blossoms Hydrating Mask and all of our soaps.
