REPORTED THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

Wintergreen is an especially powerful oil, being 96.9%-99.6% methyl salicylate (the active ingredient in aspirin). It is a powerful analgesic (pain reliever), anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic (relieves rheumatism and arthritis), increases circulation, relieves bone pain, relieves muscle and joint soreness. It stimulates liver function, eases cough, supports normal menstruation, is a diuretic, stimulates gallbladder function.

AROMATHERAPY

Inhale directly or diffuse to promote mental alertness, concentration and focus, promote self-esteem, encourage forgiveness and self-acceptance. It is at once relaxing, warming and stimulating.

PRECAUTIONS:

SPECIFIC

Never take internally! Because of the high methyl salicylate content, it is extremely poisonous internally. Keep out of reach of children. As little as 5ml (1 teaspoon) can be fatal. Avoid topical use and inhalation in individuals with aspirin sensitivities.

GENERAL

As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier oil).
