Ylang Ylang Essential Oil {Cananga odorata}

Method of Extraction: Steam distilled from the flowers.


The thin, clear oil has a richly sweet-floral aroma with fruity undertones. It is used as a middle or base note in perfumery.


Bay, bergamot, cardamom, chamomile, clary sage, clove bud, eucalyptus, fresh ginger, grapefruit, lemon, melissa, neroli, palmarosa, patchouli, peru balsam, rose, sandalwood, sweet orange, vanilla, vetiver.


Ylang ylang is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and antiseptic. It balances breathing rate, supports healthy cell division, helps lower blood pressure, balances and regulates heart function. Balances oily skin, promotes wound healing, encourages hair growth, nervine (calms and soothes nerves).


Inhale directly or diffuse to reduce anxiety and fear, promote deep sleep and relaxation, increase feelings of love, pleasure and joy, as an aphrodisiac, to induce euphoria, reduce anger, despondency and frustration, reduce mood swings and manage stress.



Dilute. May cause skin irritation.


As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier oil).
